Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and ancy ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the ancy app or website, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use ancy.

1. Using ancy

• You must be at least 13 years old to use ancy.
• You're responsible for your account and for keeping your password secure. Let us know right away if you think someone else is using your account.
• Provide accurate information when you sign up, and don't impersonate anyone else.

2. Your content

Trips, photos, rankings, notes, and everything else you add to ancy is yours. You keep ownership of it. So the app can function, you grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and share your content, but only as needed to operate ancy and only according to your privacy settings. This license ends when you delete your content or your account.

You're responsible for what you post. Only upload content you have the right to share.

3. Acceptable use

Don't use ancy to:

• Harass, threaten, or harm other people, or post hateful or unlawful content.
• Post spam, or upload content that infringes someone else's rights.
• Attempt to access other users' accounts or private data, probe or disrupt our systems, or scrape the service.
• Misrepresent who you are or your affiliation with anyone.

We may remove content or suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or put other users at risk.

4. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what data we collect and how we use it. It's short and written in plain language; please read it.

5. Third-party content and services

ancy displays content from third parties, such as maps, place details, ratings, photos, and city photos, including place information provided by Google. We don't control and aren't responsible for third-party content or websites linked from the app.

6. Travel information disclaimer

ancy helps you plan and remember trips, but we don't guarantee the accuracy of place information, opening hours, locations, or other travel data. Always double-check important details before you travel. You're responsible for your own travel decisions and safety.

7. Service availability and feature limits

ancy is provided "as is" and "as available." We work hard to keep it running well, but we don't guarantee it will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free, and we may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. Some features have usage limits (for example, a daily cap on discovery suggestions), and we may adjust those limits as the service evolves.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ancy and its creators won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to $50 or the amount you paid us in the past 12 months, whichever is greater.

9. Termination

You can stop using ancy and delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account in the app. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms. Sections 2 (for content already shared per your settings before deletion), 8, and 11 survive termination.

10. App Store terms

The ancy iOS app is distributed through Apple's App Store. Apple is not a party to these terms and has no responsibility for the app or its content. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to your use of the iOS app to the extent it doesn't conflict with these terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make meaningful changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of ancy after changes means you accept the updated terms.
